Meteonorm Forecast

Meteonorm Forecast

Meteonorm's Forecasting Services provide high-precision forecasts of solar radiation, energy yield, and various meteorological parameters to support solar energy applications and environmental assessments.

Two forecast products are available:

  • Forecast Basic: A standard 8-day forecast based on Global Forecast System (GFS), offering reliable solar irradiance predictions and auxiliary weather data.

  • Forecast Precision: An enhanced 8-day forecast that combines advanced weather models with post-processing algorithms and nowcasting techniques based on satellite data to deliver superior short-term and intraday accuracy.

Coverage

The Meteonorm Forecast products are available globally. However, for Forecast Precision, the highest quality is achieved within the latitudinal range of 60°S to 60°N, where satellite-based nowcasting enhancements are applied to improve short-term accuracy. Outside this range, the forecasts are based solely on numerical weather model output, as satellite-based nowcasting is not available or less effective at higher latitudes. This limitation only impacts the very short-term forecast horizon, typically the first few hours, while the overall 8-day forecast remains fully operational and reliable across all regions.
